The stiff southerly winds this morning seemed to hold a number of small birds back above the cliffs and on the fields: as well as a nice flock of 50+ Linnet, perhaps a dozen Wheatears on the Deer Park above Renny’s Slip and along the Coast Path, plus numerous Meadow Pipits with some Rock Pipits intermingling. Best was a Yellow Wagtail just inside the Deer Park gate at Renny’s Slip.
Several mixed groups of Swallows and House Martins were feeding along the North coast of the Marloes peninsular; yesterday evening I saw several hundred working their way down the Western Cleddau at Treffgarne, stopping briefly to feed over hedges and tree lines.
(I dipped on the Marloes Snow Bunting yesterday: Lucy brought back several phone shots that were unmistakable!)
