First thing this morning, not the best of light in the shadow of a brightening sky, a Kingfisher was nice to see - always moving away from me though. Driving back home, the 4 Whoopers were clearly visible in the distant fields somewhere NE of Orlandon kilns as I drove down the hill past Steve & Anna`s, pulling over by the old bridge at Mullock I managed a long range record pic. Later this afternoon I wandered back to the Gann hoping to see the Hooded Crow again, I saw Toby on Pickleridge & he said he`d seen t though I couldn`t find amongst all the many Corvids. I was heading back to the car park along the beach 15 minutes later, and this Glossy flew over me from behind and settled on the foreshore to the right of the car park next to a Little Egret, where they stayed for a few minutes before they both flew off landing by the footbridge. On the way back to Milford the day was nicely finished by a male Merlin at Mab`s Gate & 8 Lapwing at Sandy Haven.
