Caspian Gull / Ring-necked Duck

Spent a couple of hours this morning checking through the large gulls at the Gann.  Highlight was an adult Caspian Gull on the beach by the river mouth around midday.  Watched it for around 10 minutes before the incoming tide pushed a lot of the gulls off.  A different bird to that on 16th November as it was un-ringed.  Still 4 dark-bellied Brents hanging around the footbridge area (2 adults, 2 1CY).

A first visit to Bicton Farm irrigation ponds (St Ishmaels) for some time was well worthwhile, with an adult drake Ring-necked Duck with 5 Tufted Duck (2 drakes, 3 females).  It was on the pond next to the road (park in the 'layby' just south of the farmhouse, walk south for 20m or so and turn right onto the track to look down the pond).
