3 of Brian's earlier reported Snow Buntings were again at the intersection of the runways on Dale Airfield late morning. A couple of them allowed me the privilege of accompanying them while they foraged at the edge of the concrete.
This afternoon, at The Gann, a good selection of gulls again but no sign of Bonaparte's or Caspian. As consolation a rather splendid adult Yellow-legged Gull.
A few stake-outs of 'Serin Alley' (the path through the bushes next to the car park) failed to produce anything more interesting than a Song Thrush.
5 Dark-bellied Brent Geese were again at the river mouth as the tide rose. As ever, a rich selection of bird species to see here. Today the list included 4 raptors - 2 Red Kite, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and a Merlin that put up all of the gulls in the river and curlews in the marsh as it flew past.
