Thanks to Jack Williams, who let us know the Harriers were back along with Merlin and SE Owl etc, Fran and self , arrived on the Dowrog at about 4pm. Thankfully it was bright and still although chilly.
Paul Grennard was already there and had two ring-tails (female/juv Hen Harriers) plus a couple of Merlins. I opened my score with a cracking Male that appeared to our right and then drifted off towards the Airfield. A bit of Deja-Vu from last winter!
Jack then joined us with his dad, Paul G then found a cracking male Merlin sitting on a bush which took off and was briefly chased\followed by a female that ended up on another bush.
Another ring-tail put in an appearance flying left over the scrub in front of us before plonking down to roost. Large groups of Starlings were heading west presumably to some hitherto un known (to us) roost
By now the light was fading fast. Jacks Dad called a Barn Owl which we missed but it was good to know there was still one about finishing off a nice hours raptor watch!
