From near Brickyard (where we were counting birds in the Landshipping area on Sunday) it was nice to see somewhere in the region of c.1,500 Golden Plovers swirling around over the Daugleddau estuary, plus a few hundred Lapwings. They all eventually landed on the Sprinkle Pill shore opposite Brickyard. We often see a flock resting over there from the Landshipping-side of the estuary channel in most winters.

Among the mixed Canada and Greylag Geese flock, feeding in the grassland near Sprinkle, it was evident that there must have been at least one Pink-footed Goose still present among them. Its occasional contact calls are quite distinctive.
