Avian flu

As you probably know there is a significant outbreak of Avian Flu in the UK at present. The outbreaks around mainly coastal sites seem to involve a particularly virulent strain this year, with high mortality rates seen. Barnacle Geese in the Solway Firth are being particularly badly affected. Also there is a UK wide order in place for all domestic fowl to be housed 24hrs/day, with stringent bio security around all farmed poultry units.
