Ridgeway fields

Prompted by yesterday's Skokholm report I had another look at my inland wheatear corridor just north of the Ridgeway, inland from Manorbier, that was so productive in 2020 and 2021 (SN0402, see Bird Diaries for May 2020). I'd not seen any on two recent walks, but today there were 2. The ground is baked hard - bizarrely I also flushed a snipe. Anyway, suggestive that wheatears move north on a broad front, making landfall on the S coast and touching down in promising-looking fields. Last year we saw one at Carew Castle which is 1½  miles N of here and in line of sight.
