Ridgeway Fields, West Williamston

Still a trickle of wheatears through the Ridgeway steppes - 3 today, in the huge field where I photographed one on 24 April (qv) and which has since been cultivated. This is the third year (starting during lockdown in 2020) I've seen regular passage in April and May through these three fields. In 2020 the latest was on May 12.

Yesterday at West Williamston, still plenty of whimbrel - at half tide, well spread out along the shore and in the creeks.
