Highlight of another foray into the Preselis and Cwm Gwaun today was an adult Hobby which whizzed through Coed Glynaeron heading SE. Also Spotted Flycatcher here but too windy for Tree Pipit which I saw here earlier in the week (also had 7 Crossbill).
A report of a Grey Shrike species at Marloes Mere today, 100m west of the Oriole (north) hide. Couldn't see it around 5pm, no further details.
Yesterday at the Gann there were 7 Med Gulls on the incoming tide, including the fully hooded 3CY recorded earlier by Dave O. All the others were 2CY, and one had a white ring but we couldn't read it. 4 Whimbrel flew down the river and landed on the beach. Finally, there was a good candidate adult-type Yellow-legged Gull on the beach but it was just too far to be sure, and it flew west towards the airfield/Skokholm at an angle which prevented a detailed look at the upper wing. Frustrating! It also appeared to have a blue ring on its right leg, but it could have just been a trick of the light.
