Brynberian

Probably the last visit for the year, so nice to finish off with 3 young Whinchats and a female. The bracken is head high so bit like a maze in places, I was grateful for the plentiful ant hills to scan from meerkat fashion. Couple of Tree pipits calling as they flew over. Crossbills feeding in a little stand of conifers, the spruce have lots of cones. With the air full of young swallows and housemartins (plus lots of Small tortoiseshell and large dragonflies on the wing) I was expecting a Hobby but just Kites and buzzards. Scarce blue-tail and a few Small Red damsels in the main flushes, couple of others have dried out.
