Another good look around the airfield lasted a bit longer than I intended. A couple of new arrivals in the shape of 2 Whinchat on the eastern fenceline (a good spot for them) and a Hooded crow almost hidden among the large mixed corvid flock that was feeding in the field and runway by the overflowing water trough. Lots of hatching ants so I assume that's what they were after.
The scrub on the track was lifting with birds on the way down after it appeared seemingly empty on the way up earlier. 2-3 Chiffhaffs were flitting from one side to the other, at least 2 Whitethroat, a female Blackcap, 2-3 Spotted flycatcher, a bright Willow warbler and a Goldcrest, plus Blue tits, Robins and Wren, but hard to keep track on exactly what was there. Good to see Derek, and George and Fiona. Late news from George of another Whinchat and a Pied flycatcher on the Deer Park.
