Nice to see 2 juvenile Ruff on the lagoon yesterday evening. Good numbers of small waders on the beach close to low tide, with 68 Ringed Plover, 27 Dunlin and a single Sanderling. This morning less small waders and the Sanderling had been replaced by a Turnstone. A 1CY Shag has taken to roosting on Cormorant island with its larger cousins. The colour ringed Little Egret remains.
Up at the airfield this morning generally quiet for migrants, but a sizeable flock of small waders on the field at the western end (which has electric fencing around it so presumably some crop or other will soon spring forth) - 63 Ringed Plover and 17 Dunlin, also 2 Curlew on the runways.
