Little Ringed Plover

A smart juvenile Little Ringed Plover at the Gann this morning just after high tide.  It was on the beach where the river runs out but very mobile (and vocal), once popping over to the lagoon before doing a lap of the beach again.  Also 5 juvenile Knot, 3 juvenile Black-tailed Godwit, single Common SandpiperSanderling, Whimbrel, and Turnstone, and 19 Dunlin.  12 species of wader (when you add in Redshank, Greenshank, Curlew and Oystercatcher), not bad at all!  Shame no Ringed Plover to make it a baker's dozen.
