Lovely still evening, hardly a breath of wind. 3-4 Chiffchaff and 2 Willow warblers in the sycamores on the track up. 100s of Swallows and fewer Housemartin sweeping low taking hatching ants, Pied/white wagtail numbers have increased with 2 Yellow wagtails and a calling Tree pipit. 5 Whinchat, interesting to see them chasing around among the wagtails and pipits. 8 Wheatear. 5 Whitethroat. 5 Ringed plover, 4 Curlew, a Snipe and a calling Golden plover in the field beyond the eastern fenceline but couldn't see it. A Red kite was bathing in the little pools by the water trough. 50 Starling.
The Hoodie was here on Tuesday evening but no sign tonight. A Yellow wagtail moving between the fields by the car park on a brief visit to a dry and dusty Marloes Mere on Tuesday.
