After over two hours migrant hunting this afternoon, at St.Govan's Head/Trefallen Down, I found a totally unexpected one: a tired looking juvenile Turtle Dove. (On Trevallen Down, just up the track that leads from Broad Haven South, top of the hill after passing vidette post. And back in a bit, in the scrub, north of said track.)
It allowed a close-ish approach, and was watched for a few minutes. However, I moved slightly and spooked a rabbit, which made the dove fly towards the scrub above the cliffs. An hour's search later failed to relocate it. Though a big female Sparrowhawk was perched in the same area then, so it's probably a good thing it did relocate!
From where it was perched it had a clear view south out to sea, and a cracking view of Lundy, which is probably where it'll be tomorrow.
