Llys-y-fran

One of those roosts that promised but didn't quite deliver. About a 1,000 gulls already on the water at 3:30pm with more dropping in regularly pushing numbers up to 4,000 at 4:15pm, more arriving until it was too dark at 5pm. 4 Yellow-legged gulls (3 adult and a 1w). At least 6 adult Mediterranean. The Ring-bill/LBB hybrid was easy to pick out sat among the smaller gulls (previously it's in with the LBBs). An increase in Herring gull in the past couple of visits with an interesting large Argentatus-type (2nd w) this evening sporting a glaucous like bill. At least 70 Common gull. BH gulls seemed fewer, 100 at 3:30 had risen to only 500 at 4pm though probably just late arriving in the fine weather. 6 adult GBB were pushing through the roost as they do. Waterfowl were bit more interesting. 10 Goldeneye (7male, 2 1w male and a single female), 29 Greylag and a white Muscovy drake. 2 GC grebe.
