From Alf and Carol Williams: Thursday Morning – we spent the morning walking around the Lily Ponds in bright sunshine and not far from the car park had 5 Tufted Duck ( 4m 1f ) and a male and female Goosander. As we continued along the path 2 Goldcrests were joined by a Firecrest and shortly after a “chattering/clattering” of 30 Chough circled noisily over the wooded slope of North Hill . Unfortunately their calls were competing with Castlemartin firing range. A Chiffchaff was feeding amongst a group of Long Tailed Tits near the “Grassy Bridge”. In the afternoon a flock of 40 Curlew were active at Castlemartin Corse with large numbers of Lapwing in the distance and a very brief appearance of a distant Marsh Harrier towards Kilpaison Burrows where I suspect Richard had seen it a couple of days ago.
