Another rather frustrating roost. With the few 100 gulls that were on the water when Paul and I arrived, very jumpy and it didn't take long to reveal just why - the pair of GBBs were again hammering into the gulls, grabbing or chasing any they felt worth attention. Some chases were quite prolonged and skua-like resulting in a regurgitated meal others more sinister with some really aggressive thuggery, and this persisted almost until dusk when things settled a little bit as more gulls came from the fields. The Ring-billedxLBB was among the gulls for the first time in a while, with the larger Glaucous gull appearing at 5pm, 5 Yellow-legged gulls (4 adult and a 3cy) and just 3 adult Med gulls. Very few gulls had arrived by dark when a big wave came down from the fields in the east by which it was too dark to check them. Otherwise: 55 Greylags was the most I've seen here, 25 Cormorants again a good number usually in single figures recently. 4-5 GC grebe and 3 Little grebe.
