Marloes Saturday and Sunday

Saturday: A good look around the village but no sign of the hoopoe,. Marloes really is a magnetic for them, so hopefully it'll stick around a bit longer or another might drop by. The pair of Tufted duck were still on the mere, 500+ Golden plover in Trehills fields. I'd just about given up on seeing a harrier and was chatting to Andy B by the barbwire gate at dusk when a sudden splashing as the duck and lapwing got up as a ringtail hen harrier appeared. We followed it across the mere as it took a couple of swipes at a teal and a snipe before dropping down maybe with prey.

Sunday: Last couple of hours between the mere and Martin's Haven. Tufted duck were up to 5, 2pairs in North irrigation and male by the Britton Hide, a Black-tailed godwit among the 20 Lapwing. A Chiffchaff in the Withys. The Golden plover flock same field and the ringtail Hen harrier appeared almost to the minute again, making a single pass before dropping down.
