Can't ever remember seeing a spring Common Tern at the Gann, so one this evening on the beach on the incoming tide was very welcome for the Patchwork Challenge list. It flew over the ridge towards the lagoon but may have kept going. A decent selection of waders again including around 30 each of Dunlin and Ringed Plover. The calls of Whimbrel an almost constant backdrop.
A walk up to the airfield partly in search of 2 Dotterel seen yesterday by George Mee was unsuccessful, it was very quiet in a cold northerly, best was around 10 Wheatear, mostly on the 'western field'.
