A Night Heron was seen on Friday afternoon at St Brides by a local householder. It was perched on a wall while he mowed the lawn - slightly odd behavoiur for a usually secretive species. He sent the attached picture on Friday evening.
An extensive search of nearby suitable habitat was made this morning (Saturday) but the bird could not be relocated.
