Nice to be back on the patch after 10 days of birding in Canada. Still a decent passage of waders: Sanderling (15 yesterday, 5 today), Dunlin (27 yesterday, 60 today including a bird colour-ringed on the Dyfi), Ringed Plover (11 yesterday, 12 today), Whimbrel (2 yesterday, 6 today), Bar-tailed Godwit (4 yesterday, 3 today), Turnstone (4 yesterday, 2 today), Grey Plover (1 today), Curlew (2 today) and Oystercatcher (c.60).
A pair of Mute Swan continue but show no signs of wanting to breed, and 2 pairs of Shelduck similarly are either not bothering this year or the egg laying is later than recent years as the females are still out and about.
