Yesterday Peter and I sat on an upturned dinghy and spent about 15 minutes captivated by the Sand Martins feeding above the stream which comes out on Aber Bach beach. They were zooming up and down above the stream, occasionally dipping in the water. Quite a few coast-path walkers crossed the stream using the lines of stones, and the Sand Martins whizzed by their heads taking absolutely no notice of them. Sadly, the walkers also took no notice of the Martins despite the fact that they were putting on quite a display and were very close. We could not spot any nests but there were plenty of suitable soft vertical bits of cliff nearby.
