Buff-breasted sandpiper and hoopoe, still Dale airfield

Encouraged by Ians Whatsapp message that both birds were still on the airfield a visit late afternoon was in order, and it was nice to bump into a few regulars also enjoying the birds. The buff-breasted sandpiper was still in the stony field along with 20 Ringed plover (we had a max count of 9 on the ground) but as Ian and I were walking back along the weedy runway the call of plovers overhead revealed the buff-breast along with 20 ringed plover zooming by, we followed them as they returned to the stony field. The hoopoe was again in its favoured northernmost corner of the runway adjacent to the stony field,  with a bit of a swivel and a squint, you could see both birds from more or less the same spot. (It makes you wonder with 2 nice birds in a little corner of Pembs what are we missing elsewhere!). No sign of the s-t lark. Otherwise a Skokholm ringed GBB W:446 (I think, in the heat haze). A few chiffchaff on the track up. Apologies for my iffy photos, check out David Butlers on the Twitter link.
