Cresswell River

One osprey through the heat haze about 800 metres upstream of the new bench, in a tall dead tree (roughly opposite the house on the north shore). I tried for a better view, this time from some stubble fields NE of West Williamston on the back road to Cresswell Quay which command a good view of the river. As I got there the osprey flew, disturbed by some boats, and headed downstream towards Lawrenny.

On the river - whimbrel, redshank, oystercatcher, curlew, ringed plover (8), dunlin, 2 grey heron, 8 little egrets.  2 female wigeon, my first this autumn. A distant kingfisher on one of the low posts in the creek that the ospreys use.
