I have been asked to share this message from the National Trust Countryside Team:
As many of you will know, we've been planning habitat enhancement works at Marloes Mere for a while. The works will increase the area of wetland habitats, whilst also improving access to the coast and views across the mere From the Britton Hide. The project was approved at the PCNPA Development Committee earlier in the week, and we finally have the go-ahead!
Work will commence on-site early next week, and will continue for around 10 weeks. During this period there will be no access to the Britton hide. However, the Public Right of Way to the coast will remIn open (with temporary crossing points for machinery).
If you'd like to learn more about the project, Mark Underhill will be giving an overview at the Pembrokeshire Bird Conference in November.
We've also been made aware that the Oriole hide is now in very poor condition and is now unsafe to use. The oriole hide will be closed for the foreseeable future, whilst we investigate our options.
