Dr Tim Mackrill of the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation confirms that the colour-ringed osprey (blue, left leg), is of Scottish origin, but that is all they can tell us as the ring can't be read. It's also a juvenile, as we knew. I took the scope down this morning - met RC coming the other way - very high tide, no ospreys. Roosting waders inc. 8 whimbrel on the Carew River, more heard on the Cresswell River, a couple of greenshank, but I didn't try very hard as I was busy dodging the rising tide.
