Fishguard Harbour

We had not been up to Fishguard for ages, but we managed to find some time to head up that way at around lunchtime today.

Apart from the usual gulls flocking off the flagpoles, including a few Med Gulls (no legs seen unfortunately to determine if any were ringed), we also noted several distant divers offshore.

These included at least 5 Great Northern (3 inside Goodwick harbour), 3 Red-throated (one inside the harbour and 2 outside closer to Needle Rock), a couple of Great Crested Grebes, a female Common Scoter and 5 Eiders (3 immature males and two females). The Eiders flew in to rest on the sea between the harbour entrance and Needle Rock. Unfortunately, all the birds were too far out for decent photos.
