14 members attend the Group Visit to the semi frozen Gann this morning. Weather was overcast at first but sadly visit abandoned after 2 hours due to heavy rain and wind. Tide remained stubbornly high throughout so very few birds on shoreline. 25 species recorded in total inc 5 of gulls, 5 of waders. Highlights included a fox, a Kingfisher, gull identification discussion and a probable distant pair of Scaup on the sea, size and structure together with plumage suggesting a female and juvenile resulting from an informative debate.
