I had an interesting email from a friend recently as follows "This Spring our blackbird couple nested
in the top of one of our log store sections just in under the roof
and used to sit there watching us watching them. Now we've
discovered that they have built a semi detached pair of nests. The
second wasn't there at the beginning of the season so did they make another
rather then use the original for a second brood? It is a very good location from
the occupants point of view. Completely dry, under the roof and a great
vantage point for peeking out under the eaves. Maybe they thought it was such a good spot they decided to build again next door?" The photo show the nests and the two logs they were attached to.
