That is so sad. Lovely man, I first got to know him in 2019-20, when he was a regular visitor to Firecrest Alley - his photo graces the 2020 Pembs Bird Report. He and I jointly stumbled across a Brimstone butterfly in Paddock Lane on 16.03.2020, an excellent sighting for Pembrokeshire - here is his image of that:
