A number of Spotted Flycatchers (probably at least 4) were in the Causeway Plantation on the edge of Plumstone Mountain this morning, all of them in an area at the North end of the plantation, where a gate leads onto the moorland. Briefly, I thought I heard a Nightjar calling, but I will plan to go back at dawn or dusk soon to try to confirm if there are any there. A Cuckoo could also be heard calling.
On the way back home, I took a detour via Folkestone Road, and was pleased to hear a Yellowhammer singing and to see two Stock Dove in the area between Folkestone farm and Hilton Court.
