RAMSEY ISLAND WALK
Todays Ramsey Island Walk was dominated by the weather, low cloud, mist and a northely wind resulting in very poor visability all day. Despite the poor conditions 19 participants attended and recorded 30 bird species all of which were either breeding on the island or seen offshore. These included Red Kite, Buzzard and Kestrel together with good numbers of Chough and Wheatears. Also seen were rabbits, seals and a small herd of Red Deer. Despite the unseasonal conditions it was an enjoyable day especially for those who have not been to Ramsey before. Many thanks to Nia and the team for hosting us and providing hot chocolate, teas and coffees which were very welcome.
