That is so sad, I knew he wasn't well. Lovely guy. I got to know him mainly at West Williamston where he was a regular, often in company with former butterfly recorder David Redhead. I sent him several Orthoptera photos which he was unfailingly generous in identifying and commenting on. The last time I saw him was on 23.12.2023 - he was about to enter stage right, staggering through the mud on the track at the Corse when I was taking this photo.
