Marloes Mere

A first mooch around the mere for a good while. It's looking very good. Some lovely looking cattle grazed muddy margins bodes well for the coming weeks, just 3 Snipe this afternoon. 7 Lapwing flying around but not tempted to drop in. Juv Marsh harrier quartering Trehills fields around 5pm. A couple of flocks of 50+ goldfinch around the mere with smaller groups of linnet in the weedy margins towards Martin's Haven. Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. 5-6 Willow warblers. 2 Whitethroat. About 20 Moorhen and 10 Coot including many of this years young. 2 young Shovelers and 2 Teal. (A very smart racing pigeon dropped in during the heavy downpour.)
