Castlemartin Corse

I decided to head back to Corse today with the weather not being so wild as it was yesterday. I was not the only one there today with Richard Ellis and Mark Saunders arriving shortly after me.

At the moment it looks like we had three Marsh Harriers today. I still need to review my images. We might have had a different adult female to the one I observed yesterday! A Red Kite glided past at one point and buzzard decided to have a circling session with one of the Marsh Harriers. Saw a Kestrel towards Starmans as I was leaving.

Rob Lewis has confirmed the Whooper Swan was present at Corse last week so it's been hanging around for a while. Got a slightly better image of it today! It was still tagging along with the two Mute Swans.

A lone Goosander made a brief appearance and gave a chance of getting a few half decent images. Though usually only heard a water rail made a mad dash from the bushes in front of the hide to the nearby drainage ditch. I was not quick enough to capture image. Nice to see 5 Little Grebe feeding out on the open water. One I witnessed catching a fish.

My personal highlight for today was this Goshawk. This is the first time I have personally seen a Goshawk at the Corse. It is also the first time I have got any form of an image of one (and I know this image is poor quality).
