Catching up on blog sightings

Apologies to those who've sent recent sightings in only just catching up.


30 October. 6 crossbills at Pantmaenog forestry. At least 9, probably more at Glynaeron forestry

The latter birds very active and singing
Didn't visit Ty Rhyg. I think they are felling there.

3 November. Late Swallow above car park behind Fresh East beach this evening at 4pm

3 November. At least  8 Crossbills in Plumstone forestry today

4 November. From the Grassy bridge at Bosherston this morning, 2 male Pochard on the southern lake and a Firecrest and Chiffchaff in the bushes.

Wigeon 70, Teal 12, L Grebe 5, Oycs 38, Redshank 4, Greenshank 5, Curlew 18, singles of Mute Swan, Moorhen, Dunlin & Rock Pipit.

Single Red Kite & Blackbird 9

The Point, Little Haven and nearby area early afternoon

Chough 2, singles of Great Northern Diver, Common Scoter 1 (at least 20 yesterday), G Heron & Gannet.  

Just above L Haven - 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker & 66 House Sparrow.

I sent a photograph of a leucistic Blacbird hanging around in The Croft, Tenby in November 2021 and you put it up on the blog. Well it is still there and as tame as ever. (The top photo is today’s).
I thought at the time that its colouration would make it an easy target for our local Sparrowhawks and Peregrines, but clearly not.
