Some sightings from earlier in the week - mostly harriers

 From Jeremy Moore

At Dowrog Common -

Monday 11th dusk.

Sparrowhawk
2 kestrel
merlin
hooded crow
barn owl
2+ hen harriers, 1 male, 1 ringtail (There appeared to have been 4 but that could have been double counting the same birds)
Cettis and water rail  both heard.

Tuesday 12th a.m. (dawn)

500 fieldfare
1+ male hen harrier (it / one of them appeared to be a bit mottled in places, looking rather like the 2nd autumn bird in the Collins Bird Guide (3rd ed.) (But had full black wing tips and not a pallid !)
1+ ringtail
Possibility that there may actually have been more than one of each.

Cettis and water rail heard.

Tuesday 12th (dusk)

50 golden plover (over)
16.05 hrs 1 ringtail harrier
16.55 hrs 1 ringtail harrier (possibly same bird)

I also had a wander around the airfield and Tretio Common looking for the pallid harrier but no joy. (and not much else)

Teifi Marshes (Pembs/Ceredigion)

Wedneday 13th

Female / juv type marsh harrier with green colour ring on left leg VOA. (Cheshire /Merseyside apparently.)
