After failing to find it on a drizzly, dog disturbed visit last weekend it was good to find Richard S already on the sandpiper when I got there at 1'ish this afternoon. It was reasonably close, feeding just on the edge of the saltmarsh with 40 dunlin and ringed plover SN 05495 39695. The waders settled down to roost around 2'ish before something spooked them (likely a corvid) and they flew across to the beach in front of the yacht club SN 05188 39853. Kingfisher flashed by and a chiffchaff in the scrub.
