My son’s partner (a non birder) returned from St Davids this afternoon and reported she had seen an unusual bird in CKs car park of all places. She described it as sparrow sized with black and white strips all over its head and body. It was on the ground by where she was parking and seemed tired and reluctant to move. She thought it may be something unusual but unfortunately didn’t take a photo. We looked through the British bird ID book but nothing in there looked anything like what see saw. On Googling small black and white bird it was the black and white warbler that she said most resembled what she saw. I thought it worth passing on in case any local birder is interested in taking a look to see if this mystery bird is still around or whether you may have other suggestions for what it might be.
