On/off Kite Roost?
Met up with an old friend, Andrew Crowder, on Saturday Morning (yesterday) who pointed out a nice Little Gull. He said there had been a couple more earlier!
My seemingly on /off Communal Kite Roost near Llangoffan Ffen was on again on Thursday evening with at least ten Kites, seen by my partner Fran. ,
I went last night to see what was happening. A Kite was seen working its way west to east along the ridge above the reserves. It came closer but high, towards and to the right of my position on the NRW reserve lay-by, as another much lower kite came in from the west. The Higher kite kept on going, but the lower one continued along the ridge before turning to cross the fen in the direction of where the kites had roosted in trees on the northern edge of Castle Morris.
Instead of landing in one of the trees it just carried on disappearing beyond the trees. By then at around 18.20 the light was fading quickly so i left for home, none the wiser!
