It's the time of year when young choughs are starting to appear.
It looks like quite a few pairs are fledging their young a bit earlier than last year, helped perhaps by the good spring weather, compared with last year's generally wet and cool spring weather.
It was pleasing to see that the Tenby family on the wing today. The young had probably been fledged for a few days at least. This morning the family party was having a fly around Tenby seafront. Any day now they'll probably be feeding out on the golf course, or perhaps feeding on someone's lawn.
Hopefully it will be quite a productive season for Pembrokeshire choughs.

I doubt if anyone on the sea front noticed the choughs flying over them |

The guillemot population at Elegug Stacks seems to be doing well this year, with quite a few birds sitting on eggs or small chicks now. A couple of springs ago, one with an orange bill and feet (a genetic variant) turned up. It is back on exactly the same bit bit of rock this year and seems to be breeding. The photo below was taken several days ago.
