A nice mid-evening walk, cooler than expected! A surprise was to see a colour-ringed Little Egret, the same bird that was present here in August/September 2022 (yellow number 6 on left tibia, white N on the right), a bird ringed at Llanon in Ceredigion. A total of 11 birds present, plus one Grey Heron.
6 Mediterranean Gulls included 2 adults, 2 2CY and 2 juvs. One of the 2CY was ringed (white) but we couldn't read it. An adult Common Gull was a bit of a surprise, they usually appear here later in the year.
Waders were well represented with a single Knot, 5 Greenshank, 32 Ringed Plover, 12 Dunlin and a single Whimbrel. (Dave & Lisa)
Addendum: forgot to mention the Hooded Crow that Lisa picked up, feeding on the beach at low tide with other corvids.
