Thanks first to Caroline for tip-offs yesterday evening and this morning. It was on the north side of the Millpond this morning at very high tide, flying up and down the north shore looking for places to settle. A couple of lucky shots through the hedge as it was feeding in the long grass, until it was spooked by dog walkers encouraging their mutts into the water and flew off downstream. It could well be back to feed when the tide goes down.
For the last Carew glossy ibis see blog for 13.09.2023, the same week as these recent sightings.
