I had a second look with Andy B. today. The Brown shrike, was east of the road around midday and pretty mobile and often distant SM 74579 24799. It then went awol for a while. It was being reported back in the original spot just through the gate this afternoon and then back on the east side of the road later.
An earlier visit to Dale airfield, a Tristis chiffchaff calling in the hedge on the track up, with 2 other collybita, all had gone quiet or moved on a few hours later. Jack snipe flushed with 6 snipe from the pond. Flock of a dozen reed bunting, siskins and Golden plovers calling high over the airfield. A few pipit and pied wagtail chasing midges by the trough.
