I had a second look with Andy B. today. The Brown shrike, was east of the road around midday and pretty mobile and often distant it then went awol for a while. It was being reported back in the original spot just through the gate this afternoon and then back on the east side of the road.
An earlier visit to Dale airfield, a Tristis chiffchaff calling in the hedge on the track up, with 2 other collybita, all had gone quiet or moved on a few hours later. Jack snipe flushed with 6 snipe from the pond. Flock of a dozen reed bunting, siskins and Golden plovers calling high over the airfield. A few pipit and pied wagtail chasing midges by the trough.
