Been staying in Pembrokeshire this week and have seen the following birds.
Sunday - several both male and female Blackcaps around Middle Mill/Solva Woollen Mill.
Monday - Rock Pipit, Stonechat at Whitesands car park
Wednesday-
NO Black Guillemot at Goodwick Ferry Port 😠, Bar-tailed Godwit on the
sand side of Goodwick beach. Chough with swollen foot - Dave Astin, saw
it earlier this year, good numbers of Porpoise, Dolphin - both common
and Risso’s.
Then onto Dowrog:-
Stonechat,
Kestrel, Starlings, loads of Mipits, Magpies, Wood Pigs a flyover and
calling Curlew. Then the piece de le resistance, the male Pallid and Hen
Harriers, they arrived on the Southside of the Common pretty much
together. They were in view for around 2-3 minutes. Finally a
successful hunt by a determined male Merlin that eventually took a Mipit
in flight.
