At last a decent number of waders at Kilpaison after all the excitement further north in Ceredigion.
This morning as the tide started to drop there were many waders feeding high up on the beach and the tideline or loafing on the pebbles. Ringed Plovers seemed to be the most numerous with around 250 birds. Also 200+ Dunlin, 70 Sanderling, 15 Turnstone, 2 Knot. As the tide dropped further the larger waders moved over from the roost on the north side of the bay - 23 Curlew, 3 Whimbrel and 12 Oystercatchers.
Well worth a soaking from the heavy drizzle early on.
