Ring Ouzel and Whooper Swan

An afternoon out with Paul G at Dale & St. Ann's.  Two very brown looking and dark legged Chiffchaffs in the woodland by the car park may have been from a decent way east.  Whilst in the car park a / the Whooper Swan flew directly overhead in a south-westerly direction and was lost to view.  Quiet at Dale Fort, but things perked up on a loop of St Ann's with a first-winter male Ring Ouzel in the valley at Watwick with migrant Song Thrushes and Blackbirds, also a Coal Tit here.  A good flock of pipits in stubbles at Kete included an interestingly olive toned bird but we could not turn it into an Olive-backed!  Final stop was the Gann which was beautifully still, 9 Little Egrets, 6 Turnstones and a Wheatear.
