Saturday midday - Upper Eastern Arm - silt-laden and caramel-coloured after last night's rain - an impressive flock of 620 black-headed gulls, amongst whom I finally managed to find one adult Mediterranean gull. I've never seen quite so many there, they were alternately flying round in a huge flock and settling on the water, though they did not seem to be feeding, particularly.
